Your Summer Experience
See the grandeur of Aspen's mountains and valleys from a different perspective. Paragliding and ballooning offer an extra edge of adventure for your Aspen vacation. The views are as thrilling as the experience!
Aspen Paragliding
Based in Aspen, Aspen Paragliding is one of the leading paragliding schools
in the country and a full-service dealer for paragliders and equipment. They
offer professional tandem instruction, mountain and thermal soaring clinics,
and glider inspection and repair, and more. Instructors are certified by the
United States Hang Gliding and Paragliding Association. Aspen Paragliding
uses local teaching sites in cooperation with the Aspen Skiing Company,
the U.S. Forest Service, the City of Aspen, and Pitkin County. Their
summer experience takes place on Aspen Mountain with the season extending
from the end of May to mid-October. Most tandem flights require advance
reservations.

Above It All Balloon Company
This Basalt-based, locally-owned company has a fleet of balloons that can
accommodate from two to sixteen passengers. Balloons are launched starting
at sunrise every morning from the Snowmass Recreation Center and Snowmass
Rodeo Arena parking lot. Pilots have FAA commercial balloon licenses and
have an average of 20 years piloting experience. They do not fly
children under the age of six. Check their website for information about
weight and health restrictions. All ground transportation is provided.
Balloon flights must be reserved in advance. Sunrise flights are followed by
a champagne brunch with chocolate-covered strawberries, fresh fruit, cheese,
crackers, bagels, and yogurt.
